Behind my stories:
My love for storytelling began when I was little, sharing a room with my sisters. We’d all dog-pile into my big sister’s bed on the condition that I whispered stories until she fell asleep, while my other sister played with her hair. Those nights planted the roots of my lifelong passion for creating worlds out of words.
I enjoy writing romantic fantasy about strong heroines without the “chosen one” trope. I find inspiration in the power of everyday women, sprinkled with a little magic. Authors like Laurell K. Hamilton and T. Fisher have influenced my storytelling, along with shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, True Blood, Supernatural, and of course The Lord of the Rings movies. Apologies to my Twilight lovers, but I’ve never been a fan of sparkling vampires. Give me the monstrous, dangerous ones, paired with just enough of the tortured soul to keep things interesting.
Through my stories, I hope readers find a place to escape reality for a little while in worlds filled with dark adventures, romance, and characters who stay in the mind long after the last page is turned. As a woman balancing a full-time career, military service, martial arts, and a marriage I hold dear, I want to give others like me the chance to set aside their stress and sink into a story that feels both thrilling and comforting. My goal is to write characters who connect so deeply with readers that they feel wrapped up in a love too perfect to exist outside the pages of a book.
